Setup
- Download the latest
EdgeRouter ER-X/ER-X-SFP/EP-R6firmware from https://www.ubnt.com/download/edgemax - If you have an existing network with a DHCP server:
- Connect the router to the network via the port labelled
eth1 - Connect to the DHCP assigned address in a web browser on a system on the same network
- Otherwise:
- Connect your computer to the router via the port labelled
eth0 - Configure the Ethernet adapter on your host system with a static IP address on the 192.168.1.x subnet
- Connect to https://192.168.1.1 in a web browser
- Sign in with
ubnt/ubnt - Read and agree to the terms
System>Upgrade System Image>Upload System Image- Let it restart and sign in with
ubnt/ubntagain
Connectivity
- Use the
WAN+2LAN2setup wizard to perform a basic setup of the router: Internet Port> Set the desired ethernet port for the WANLAN Ports> Set the address to the desired subnet for your LANUser Setup>Keep Existing UsersApply- Let it restart
- Connect the WAN cable to the set port and any other cables to other ports
Users
- Connect to the IP address set in the previous section
- Sign in with
ubnt/ubntagain Users>Local>Add User> Enter desired details- Repeat for any other desired users
Welcome ubnt>Logout- Sign in with one of the added admin accounts
Users>Local>ubnt>Actions>Delete
