About Dee

I got involved with jewellery making by chance.

Years ago I was introduced to silver and its wonderful potential by a jeweller friend and spent many happy hours in the studio creating wearable pieces for fun. I have always been an incredibly creative person and when I stepped away from the eventful world of magazine and national newspaper publishing to make the move to Melbourne, Australia, I was encouraged to attend a jewel-crafting course to broaden my skills.

After having travelled extensively across Africa as well as Europe, the design inspiration for the pieces at Dee Sterling Silver come from nature; from the African bush to the sunshine and beaches of Australia.

To ensure that my business is environmentally friendly, all the jewellery in this store is made by hand from 100% recycled sterling silver wire and sheet and the silver is purchased only from reputable suppliers. The studio uses solar power and each piece is hand pierced, filed, sanded and given a final polish with a flex shaft to ensure a quality finish.
